Watermelon is a popular summer fruit known for its sweet, juicy flesh. To grow watermelon from seeds:

1. Seed Selection:  Choose high-quality seeds from THE AGRO MILL.

2. Soil Preparation:  Select a sunny location with well-draining, sandy loam soil. Amend soil with compost to enrich it.

3. Planting:  Sow seeds directly in the ground or start indoors in peat pots 3-4 weeks before the last frost. Plant seeds 1 inch deep, spaced 3-4 feet apart in rows 6-8 feet apart.

4. Germination:  Water seeds regularly to keep the soil moist. Seeds germinate in 7-10 days with soil temperatures between 70-95°F (21-35°C).

5. Transplanting:  If started indoors, transplant seedlings outdoors after the danger of frost has passed and soil is warm.

6. Watering:  Water deeply and infrequently, providing 1-2 inches of water per week. Reduce watering as fruit matures to improve sweetness.

7. Mulching:  Apply mulch to retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and keep fruit clean.

8. Fertilization:  Use a balanced fertilizer or one with slightly higher phosphorus content. Follow package instructions for application rates.

9. Pest and Disease Management:  Monitor for pests like aphids and cucumber beetles. Use organic or chemical treatments as necessary. Prevent diseases with crop rotation and proper spacing.

10. Support:  In small gardens, consider trellising smaller watermelon varieties. Use slings to support the fruit.

11. Harvesting:  Harvest watermelons when the tendril nearest the fruit turns brown and the underside of the fruit changes to a yellowish color. The fruit should sound hollow when tapped.

With proper care, watermelon plants will produce sweet, juicy fruits in about 70-90 days after planting.
